🥜 Introducing Common Allergens

Introduce one new allergen at a time. Wait 2–3 days before adding another. Do not delay past 12 months.

Egg
From 6m+
Start with well-cooked egg yolk mixed into khichdi or dal. Wait 3 days before adding egg white.
Peanut butter
From 6m+
Smooth peanut butter thinned with breastmilk or water. Never offer whole peanuts — choking risk.
Fish
From 8m+
Start with mild white fish (rohu, pomfret) — well cooked and mashed. Remove all bones carefully.
Wheat / Gluten
From 6–7m
Soft daliya (broken wheat porridge) or a small piece of soft roti is a gentle first introduction.
